Know your niche and have a goal. Your readers are there for a reason. The better positioned you are in the mind of the reader, the more likely they will know what to expect from you and go back to your blog. Your blog should have a good reason for existing and your content should be written around it. Sure, sometimes you want to write about something out of the ordinary, but make this the exception, not the rule.
